Parent Helper

Role Purpose

As a Parent Helper with Scouts Australia, you will support Scout Leaders by assisting with the supervision and facilitation of activities, meetings, and events. You’ll help ensure that programs run smoothly while providing a safe and positive environment for youth members.


Training Provided

Basic orientation and training in child safety will be provided, along with guidance from Scout Leaders.


This role offers flexibility, making it ideal for parents who want to be actively involved in their child’s Scouting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Leaders during weekly meetings and special events
  • Help set up, organize, and clean up after activities.
  • Supervise children during activities and outings.
  • Support fundraising efforts and other group initiatives.
  • Ensure child safety by adhering to Scouts Australia’s guidelines.

Skills Required

  • Enjoy working with children and supporting youth development.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
  • No formal experience needed; willingness to assist is key.
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
